Automatic Insurance

All of our camera equipment is insured when you rent through Sharegear for both local and inter-state rentals. Gear is also insured during transit Australia-wide.

Free Pick-Up & Drop-Off Days

The questions we get asked the most about our rental process!

Do you own all of the equipment on your site?

Yes, we own all of our own equipment listed on our website. We are not a "peer-to-peer" rental business. All of our stock is located in Melbourne and available to customers in Victoria and Australia-wide via our delivery service.

Do you sub-lease equipment? Can I rent out my own gear?

We currently do not offer the ability to lease your own gear through Sharegear. In certain instances, we work with partner rental houses for certain jobs.

Can someone pickup on my behalf?

Yes! Someone can pick up on your behalf. Please ensure you contact us at hello@sharegear.com.au after placing your rental to arrange this.

You are still required to show a valid photo ID when picking up on behalf of someone else.

What ID do I need to rent equipment from Sharegear?

We require 100 points of ID. Once you create your Sharegear account, you will need to verify yourself in person at our Collingwood office. For interstate rentals, please contact us before you place your booking. To hire equipment with Sharegear, you either need to be an Australian or NZ citizen.

Do you deliver?

We sure do! We deliver Australia-wide via TNT express. Contact us for delivery times. We also offer local delivery within Victoria. Contact us at hello@sharegear.com.au for more info!

Do you offer discounts for students or not-for-profits?

Yes. Please get in contact with details about your project.

Is the equipment in good condition?

Almost all of our equipment is bought new and sold after 3 years of rental use and before and after each rental we thoroughly check each item for any damage. We are passionate about our gear and take quality assurance seriously. Every item is checked by production staff before, and after each hire.

Is the equipment insured?

Yes! All of the equipment is insured when you rent through Sharegear. We also offer a Damage Waiver which limits the excess your pay in case of an accident. The damage waiver does not apply if the damage is caused by negligence, omission, misuse or abuse.
